Anthony DeRosa, Reuters social media editor (@AntDeRosa) uses Tumblr (SoupSoup) to manage his personal brand, which helps him but also helps Reuters reach new audiences. He said Andy Carvin @acarvin inspired him to curate news on Tumblr like Carvin did on Twitter.

Wearing Multiple Hats

Benet Wilson, Aviation Week, has multiple social media personalities. AviationQueen is for material she does not cover in Aviation Week; the moniker came from the industry, where she stands out by being a woman for a male-dominated industry.

Question from the audience: what are the best ways to manage multiple brands? Wilson keeps hers separate because she acknowledges that her audiences are different (shout-out for Tweetdeck). DeRosa echoed the recommendation for a dashboard, suggesting HootSuite.
